Case Study 2
Download the file entitled "NCRT - C2 - L3 workshop file 1.xlsx".
Summary of the study
In that excel sheet, you will find data of women enrolled in an observational study that aimed to understand the role of CA125 and PTEN levels in women with suspected adenomyosis.
A mixed group of women with positive and negative diagnoses of adenomyosis were enrolled in the study and their CA125 levels and PTEN were evaluated. The VAS pain score was also measured for all participants.
Objectives of the study
Compare the women with positive vs. negative diagnoses of adenomyosis (cases vs. healthy)
Find the correlations between age, CA125, PTEN, and VAS pain score
Determine the optimal diagnostic cut-off value of CA125 and PTEN to discriminate women with adenomyosis from healthy controls (negative)
You will use this case study in lecture 3 and lecture 4.
